'but darling what if you fly?'
Painting on Canvas - Framed
These new paintings were created whilst searching for glimmers of hope, beauty and hope.
In this painting I included horses from a carousel, which I feel are full of whimsy and fun and a reminder of the hopes and dreams we’re moving towards and the knowing that lives somewhere in between. The houses are a steady anchor that is a reminder of security and love in the homes we build for ourselves.
Each piece is a layered record — not of one specific story, but of many quiet moments that overlap and accumulate, like the feeling of returning to a place you once knew.
The lines feature heavily in my work as a steady rhythm to trust the path, hold the line and keep focused on what's important through the journey of life. Always remembering that dreams that we are brave enough to believe in and follow are eventually the places we arrive.
The little black mounds are stickers that my Dad brought me home from the printing factory he worked in when i was younger. They are a nod to forms and people.
I’m always thinking about what we remember, what fades, and what stays with us without us even noticing. My hope is that the work gives you space to pause — and maybe find a little piece of your own story inside it.
